TENDING

30–50% increase
in spindle uptime achieved by eliminating manual load/unload delays

Up to 80% reduction
in labor per part through automated loading, unloading, and part handling

20–40% higher throughput
from consistent cycle times and uninterrupted “lights-out” machining

60–90% decrease
in operator injuries as repetitive tasks and machine interaction are automated
Unlock Reliable Throughput with CNC Machine Tending Robots
CNC machine tending robots automate the loading and unloading of parts for milling, turning, and multi-axis operations. They support lean manufacturing and contract machining environments by handling raw materials, positioning them accurately, and unloading finished parts onto conveyors or dunnage containers. With consistent and repeatable throughput, robotic tending eliminates variability and keeps production moving at a dependable pace across your shop floor.

Automate Every Step of the Process with Precision Robotic Handling
A CNC tending robot uses multi-finger grippers, vacuum cups, or magnetic end effectors to pick raw parts from queues, conveyors with vision, or multi-tier racking. It loads parts into CNC fixtures—tombstones, chucks, vises, or indexers—based on your machine setup.
During machining, the robot can stage the next raw part, deburr or trim components, and gauge parts for in-process inspection. When machining is complete, the CNC machine signals the robot to safely enter, remove the finished part, and replace it with the next one. The robot exits, triggers the door to close, and starts the next program cycle—creating a seamless, hands-off workflow.
Increase Capacity, Reduce Costs, and Run Lights-Out with Robot Tending
Robotic tending eliminates downtime from breaks, shift changes, and manual load/unload delays—running continuously across all shifts and enabling fully unattended “lights-out” production when properly queued. For manufacturers focused on lean practices, job-shop flexibility, and contract machining, automation delivers measurable gains in capacity, safety, labor efficiency, and margins.
With over 20 years of robotic integration experience, CNC Solutions has automated machines across every major brand—including Fanuc, DMG Mori, Haas, Mazak, Okuma, Doosan, and OKK—helping manufacturers scale smarter and stay competitive.
