Supermileage and Skills USA Program
CNC Solutions and Watertown Highschool
Skills USA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America had a skilled workforce. With over 300,000 members and 13,000 schools participating nationwide, Skills USA is preparing our youth for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations. Skills USA provides a quality education experience for students in leadership, teamwork, citizenship and character development. It builds and reinforces self-confidence, work attitudes and communications skills. It emphasizes total quality at work-high ethical standard, superior work skills, life-long education and price in the dignity of work.
Supermileage gives students the opportunity to come together for a common goal of designing, building and testing a gas or electric powered vehicle with efficiency as the goal. Students build a vehicle each year from start to finish and then participate in three challenges. The Supermileage challenge brings students together with business and industry to work towards one of our societies biggest problems, energy consumption.
